- As a software company, Microsoft it's hard to control the hardware experience. With so many variations of hardware to support, from so many different sources, Microsoft offers both choice and sometimes fragmentation. The Surface line of devices is Microsoft's vision of how hardware can find synergy with its operating system.

The original Microsoft Surface Tablet was the first device to act as a frame of reference for what portable computers were capable of. The new Microsoft Surface Go 2, with a starting price of $529 CAD, continues on with updated specs, a screen, a removable keyboard, and stylus support. It's a perfect notetaking device running full Windows 10, so you can still play Age of Empires II if you want. It's the size of an iPad and does so much more.

The Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 is the company's take on thin and light with a large 15-inch screen. Starting from $1349 CAD, the Surface Laptop 3 also comes in a size for additional portability. With touchscreen support and multiple configurations, it's the perfect school or business laptop.

The Microsoft Surface Book 3 is built for creators. Arriving in and 15-inch sizes, Surface Book 3 offers more powerful processors, NVIDIA graphics, lots of RAM, and the ability to split into a tablet, letting you draw more comfortably on the go. Paired with the optional Surface Dial, you can use it for anything from photo editing to 4K video editing. When you're not on the go, you can dock it, and drive up to two 4K monitors with an optional dock. This power starts from $2149 CAD.
